Quick answer: a love calculator by name takes the letters in two names, runs them through a fixed formula and gives back a love percentage, here usually between the low 40s and the high 90s. The same two names always get the same score. It's a game for a laugh, not a prediction.
There's nothing to learn. If you can type two names, you can use it.
Your own name, and the name of your crush, partner or the friend you're teasing today.
The percentage shows up straight away. No account, no waiting, nothing to install.
Screenshot it for the group chat. Swap the names around and you'll get the same number back.
Every result lands in one of four bands. Here's what each one says, in the spirit it's meant.
| Love percentage | What you'll see | In plain words |
|---|---|---|
| 90% and above | A magical match! | Rare. Screenshot it before your friends ask for a rematch. |
| 75% to 89% | A lovely connection! | A strong score. Good luck with the flowers. |
| 60% to 74% | A promising match! | Solid middle ground. Plenty of real couples live here. |
| Below 60% | A unique connection! | Doesn't mean much. Try your full names, or a different spelling. |
It's a small web tool that turns two names into a percentage. You type your name and someone else's, press a button, and a number comes back. People use a love calculator by name on a crush, on a partner, sometimes on two friends just to watch them argue about the result. Nobody serious treats it as science. It's closer to the games we played at the back of the class.
Both names are cleaned up first. Capital letters, spaces and accents are dropped, so “Priya” and “priya ” are the same thing. Then the two names are put in alphabetical order and run through a fixed formula, and the calculator adds a little extra for every letter the two names share, up to seven. The starting score never goes below the low 40s. We made it kind on purpose, because getting 6% from a website is no way to spend an evening.
Putting the names in alphabetical order is why the order you type them in doesn't matter. Rahul & Priya and Priya & Rahul both come out at 79%.
The calculator reads letters, so it notices every one. Rahul and Priya score 79%. Rahul and Priyaa, with the extra “a”, score 69%. Switch to full names and Rahul Sharma with Priya Verma drops to 55%. None of that says anything about the couple. It just shows you the maths is only counting letters. If you want to play around, try a nickname, a middle name or the spelling on a school certificate and see which one you like best.
Naam se love percentage nikalna ho toh upar ke dono boxes mein naam English letters mein likhiye aur “Calculate Love Percentage” dabaiye. Result kuch hi second mein aa jaata hai. Devanagari mein naam likhenge toh calculator usse padh nahi paayega, isliye “राहुल” ki jagah “Rahul” likhein.
These get lumped together, but they're different things. FLAMES is the school game where you cross out the letters two names share and count through the rest to land on Friends, Lovers, Affection, Marriage, Enemies or Siblings. It gives you a word, not a percentage. A love percentage calculator like this one gives you a number. Numerology compatibility goes further and works with Mulank, Bhagyank and name numbers. And Kundli matching, the Guna Milan used before Indian weddings, looks at birth details instead of names. You'll find that in our Vedic Love Compatibility Calculator.
No, and we'd rather say so up front. A love compatibility calculator that only sees two names can't know whether you listen to each other, handle money the same way or want the same future. Those things decide whether a relationship works. If your score is low, ignore it. If it's high, enjoy it, then go and do something nice for the person.
It strips both names down to plain letters, puts them in alphabetical order, runs them through a fixed formula and adds a small bonus for every letter the two names share. The result is a love percentage, usually somewhere between the low 40s and the high 90s. Same two names always give the same score.
Yes, completely. No sign-up, no payment, no app to download, and you can try as many name pairs as you like.
No. The calculation runs in your own browser. The names are not sent to GrahaDisha's server and are not stored anywhere.
It is not a real measure of love. A name-based love calculator is a game. It cannot know how two people feel, how they talk to each other or whether they will last. Enjoy the number, then ignore it.
Because the two names are sorted before they are scored. Rahul & Priya and Priya & Rahul both give 79%. If you want a tool that treats the order as meaningful, FLAMES-style games do that, this one does not.
Please use English letters, for example Rahul instead of राहुल. The calculator only reads English letters and numbers, so a Hindi-script name cannot be scored and you will be asked to retype it.
Yes. The score comes from the exact letters, so Priya and Priyaa are different names to the calculator. Rahul with Priya scores 79%, while Rahul with Priyaa scores 69%. Using a full name instead of a first name changes the result too.
FLAMES is the old pen-and-paper school game. You cross out the letters two names have in common, count through what is left, and land on Friends, Lovers, Affection, Marriage, Enemies or Siblings. It gives you a label. A love calculator gives you a percentage instead.
For a reading based on birth details, use GrahaDisha's Vedic Love Compatibility Calculator. For Mulank, Bhagyank and name number matching, use the Numerology Compatibility Calculator. Both go much deeper than a name-only love test.
For entertainment only. A name-based love percentage can't measure real feelings or predict a relationship. Trust, communication and respect matter far more. Last updated 10 October 2026.
